This page explains how to delete your Moatly account and the data associated with it. Moatly is published by Moatly LLC.
How to request deletion
Choose either method. Both delete the same data.
From inside the app
- Open Moatly and go to Settings
- Tap Billing & Payments
- Scroll to Delete Account and tap it
- Confirm when prompted
By email
- Email info@getmoatly.com from the address registered to your account
- Use the subject line Delete My Account
- We verify the request and complete it within 30 days
Deleting your Moatly account does not cancel your subscription. Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, not by Moatly, and must be cancelled separately in the App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Delete your account before cancelling and you may continue to be charged.
What is deleted
The following are permanently removed and cannot be recovered:
- Your account and login credentials
- Email address, name and phone number
- Your Circle of Competence profile — passion, talent and money tags
- Your watchlist and its value-zone alert settings
- Conviction check answers and Meaning scores
- Scenario modelling inputs
- Your MoatlyAI conversation history
- Push notification tokens for your devices
What is kept, and for how long
A small amount of data is retained after deletion, either because the law requires it or because it can no longer identify you:
- Subscription and transaction records — retained up to 7 years for financial, tax and legal compliance. Required by law; cannot be deleted on request.
- Anonymised, aggregated usage statistics — retained indefinitely. These carry no identifiers and cannot be traced back to you.
- Crash and performance logs — retained up to 90 days, then deleted.
Company scores, valuations and financial data are not personal data. They are shared across all users and are unaffected by deleting your account.
Deleting some data without closing your account
You do not have to delete your whole account to remove specific data. You can clear your watchlist, conviction answers or Circle of Competence profile from within the app at any time, or email info@getmoatly.com describing what you want removed.
